Becoming a Signature Healthcare Employee
The first steps in becoming an employee with Signature Healthcare is to fill out an application and complete the appropriate skills checklist. You can complete
an application online, download it, or request one by mail. Once completed, our clinicians will determine your qualifications and contact you to discuss assignments that match your specific skills and experience.
What are the minimum requirements?
All applicants must have graduated from an accredited professional healthcare program and have at least one (1) year of recent (within the last three years) of clinical experience in area of specialty. All applicants must successfully pass Signature Healthcare’s medication and unit-specific examinations.
How long does the application process take?
We work very closely with employees through the application phase. We will help you get all necessary paperwork and credentialing requirements in place before employment begins. How quickly you can start depends on file completion. Some applicants begin working within a week of applying, while others take more time.
How much will I earn?
Pay rates vary depending on specialty, location and facility. For example, a facility in a largely populated metro area may offer a lower hourly rate with a higher stipend, where a small, remote facility may offer a higher rate to attract qualified candidates. Typical assignments for registered nurses range from $24 to $40 per hour.
When will I be paid?
Signature Healthcare pays employees every Friday. We offer direct deposit to our full time employees after 60-days of employment. If you choose direct deposit, your payroll stub will be mailed directly to you for record keeping. The choice is yours!
When and how will I be paid for referrals?
As soon as your referral completes a 13-week assignment or 468 hours you will receive a check in the mail for $500. There is no cap as to the amount of referrals you make – we’ll keep sending you $500 for each one! You do not need to be a current employee to receive referral bonuses.
What’s considered overtime?
Typically overtime is time-and-one-half pay after 40-hours worked per week.
When will I become eligible for benefits?
After 60-days of full time employment you will become eligible for our benefits package. Full time employment is considered as 32-hours per week.
How long are local contracts and travel assignments?
Thirteen weeks is the industry standard, but we are generally able to offer our healthcare professionals shorter or longer assignments. Occasionally, 52-week assignments become available. Many times the facility will offer our professionals the option to extend their assignment and some of our employees have been in the same facility for over two years!
Do you offer guaranteed hours?
Signature Healthcare’s contract and travel assignments have guaranteed hours. If the facility does not schedule you or cancels your shift, you will still be paid for your contracted hours, typically 36- to 40-hours per work.
Will I be eligible for a travel stipend
Signature Healthcare will provide you certain assignment related expenses including reimbursement of your license cost, meal per-diem, and housing allowance. If you are working on an assignment within typical commuting distance from your permanent tax home, then any meal per-diem, mileage and housing costs or allowances paid to you or on behalf must be treated as taxable compensation. Commuting is generally referred to as within the worker’s metropolitan area or broader rural geographic area.
Can I choose to work per-diem hours?
Yes, we offer our employees numerous per-diem hours to choose from however, they are not guaranteed like our contract and travel assignments.
